i feel a desire to perform closure even though it may be premature as there will probably be a few more updates. perhaps i am just feeling reflective. whatever and who cares.

"particles" cost a 160 grand and was made with soul but complete with its compromises. i learned a world about filmmaking from the experience (for all of the people who email me "should i make a movie?" the answer is "yes, fuck it, you only live once, do what you want: just do the prep work.") since making "particles", my own personal evolution has moved at an expediential rate. i have quite a bit going on and coming up but i am proud to say that i never put my work before my own development as a person and i hopefully never will. i hope to update you on my new projects (that is if i can stop writing poetry and staring at the stars that are really the ceiling for a moment). everything i wrote on the first page of this web site has disintegrated as i have recessed into my imaginary land that i call..."home, sweet home." i am working on the 75films site and it will soon be interactive and hopefully have guests and if we get it right, illustrate some of the confusion and beauty going on here on a moment to moment basis.

in any case, whoever is reading this (if you are interested) i have a few suggestions though dismiss what you want: (if you like bananas) check out looza's banana nectar juice (it taste like gerber baby food but better), check out al gore's film "an inconvenient truth" (even though i haven't seen it yet, it's an "of course"), check out being the best person you can be and leaving a positive mark on this planet, check out feeling the value in life, check out loving and being loved, and check out the truth; i've learned that though it sometimes hurts, it's usually beneficial.

Tuesday 12.13.05 at 06:15 AM or Thursday 12.29.05 at 08:35 AM --i don't trust people who watch movies at these times!!
the image is of timothy cummings the artist who finally picked up his paintings from the film. i was sad to let go of them however the one in the picture resides on my wall. right now i am adjusting to the year being over and listening to clap your hands say yeah! to help me do so.

i wanted to let you know that "particles" is playing on the sundance channel this month. this announcement is a little late so the remaining times are Friday 08.26.050 9:30 AM Friday 08.26.05 4:00 PM Wednesday 8.31.05 12:00 PM Wednesday 08.31.05 3:30 AM. i had the kind of summer where i felt like i was twelve again. i danced my ass off, laid in a bath tub with palm trees over head listening to jeff buckley's "hallelujah" and the cd player got stuck on replay which felt like a dream. my favorite song right now is frank black's "dying days". i'm going to stick my nose into woodie guthrie just to know what he smells like. hope whomever is reading this is having a good summer (unless of course you're an asshole!) take care je

pot dvd will be available via block buster, circuit city, amazon.com etc... as of july 26th. there are some extras on it; in particular gale and i did an audio commentary in one sitting. no editing. just ran through and rattled out some very random things. as for me i have been thinking and digesting. thinking and digesting. life is good, but complicated as always. played radiohead out. listening to the stones for a change. check out the dvd and have fun this summer! i will keep the site updated with some promo stuff coming up. je

so, it's been a little bit. thank you for the support for the theatrical release of the film. if you didn't catch it in the theater, you can do so by watching the sundance channel from december 04 on... i have been directing a couple of mtv spots which i will give you a heads up on to look out for. i am finally finishing "a nervous society". The city is cold right now but it doesn't really affect me since I never go outside. For some strange reason I am happy and hope that whoever is reading this is too (unless of course you're an asshole)! shanny is the associate producer for "life on the ledge" and has been an integral part of the post production of "particles of truth". she's also my buddy.

so we're working on labor day. sad but true. this weekend i (jen) went to a wedding on a farm where there were beautiful goats and calves and a 700 pound pig that would "sit" on command. can you top that for fun?

So today we are working on our new web sites --anyone notice that they're not up yet? I'm making some last revisions to "A Nervous Society" (my new script), which is coming along well and bringing me happiness. Other things bringing me happiness? I visited a friend of mine this weekend who is a-hundred and three years old and physically disabled. Her face lit up when she saw me and she smiled the most beautiful smile. I now own that smile in my memory bank and can replay it whenever I feel like it.
As for the tickets for "Particles" it's first come first serve. The first fifteen people on line for the showing at the theater will get our new poster which blows the old one away.
